Renata, second time mum

I want to share my gentle birth story about my second baby.
Although I had a natural medication free delivery with my first child, it wasn’t as gentle as I imagined it would be.

So when I was planning my second baby, I did my research – I already knew I’ll go to Pantai hospital, to Dr Paul, I’ll get HypnBirthing course, I’ll find doula.

We had a HypnoBirthing course with Nadine, and we loved it. My husband was impressed, and even I learnt a lot of new things about my body (and I used to read a lot about natural birth). After the course I still wanted to have Nadine as my doula as I wanted to be prepared for the birth 100%.

My pregnancy was easy if you don’t count my 24/7 morning sickness. And when I was 39 weeks my baby decided to come out.

I waited at home as much as I could (not like the first time when I rushed to the hospital with my first surges). I texted Nadine a lot and she was always on the line. When I arrived to the hospital, she helped me to stand up for my decisions and we only let them do the vaginal exam once!

She also helped me to take a shower to reduce pain, and the light touch massage made a huge difference.

Nadine was amazing! Even though it was my second birth, natural, non complicated, I still needed that reassuring professional help and Nadine was super helpful. I cannot thank her enough for being there for me, my baby and my family.

The staff at the hospital was also very good, they followed my super long and complex birth plan.

Long story short my beautiful baby was out within 3 hours after admission to hospital, with HypnoBirthing techniques (less then 3 hours from 4 cm to the birth – ouch!). I birthed while lying on my left side, the only possible position throughout my pregnancy. I was thinking about squatting but ended up preferring a more relaxed position.

I wish I was prepared that good for my first birth. I would highly recommend to have HypnoBirthing course and Nadine as your doula! Especially if it’s your first baby.
